First Ski Tow in America

In January 1934, the first ski tow in the United States was set up on Clinton Gilbert's farm in Woodstock. This simple rope tow, powered by a Model T ford engine, helped begin Vermont's far-reaching ski industry and gave the sport a much needed lift.
