  We believe all of the
Clarendon
wooden serving and salad bowls are beautiful. Each bowl inherits the unique grain of the tree
which contains a history of the weather, climate, and soil conditions experienced during
its growth cycle. Additional examples of bowls in each of the
different wood types
highlight the uniqueness of each bowl. These features and characteristics, blending warm colors and natural
beauty are so unique, we
believe they're "heirloom quality."
 Over the years, we've noticed that
some bowls are SO unique, SO different, and SO unusual that we had to
create a separate category just for them. We've decided to call these
bowls the Vermont Only One-and-Only
Bowls. We have selected a few bowls
that deserve special attention and we hope special homes!

Cherry Bowls

This gorgeous 23 inch cherry bowl is
absolutely exquisite. It truly has some of the most unusual
grain patterns and "spalting" we have ever seen in our bowls.
Technically these dark streaks are due to mineral deposits in
standing trees, not spalting, but that's the term people use
here in Vermont. Adopt the Spalted Bowl. Actual dimensions are
21 3/4" to 22 3/4" in outside diameter at the rim. The rim is
generally 1/2" thick and the bowl has an undulating rim so the
height varies from 8" to 9 1/4". This bowl makes full use of the
tree, including a wee piece of tight bark on the bottom. Your
guests will know this is hand-made. This is the only 23 inch
cherry bowl we have in-stock.
